On Monday 10th December, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation gave assurance to the first ever driverless train of India. In total five driverless train to run and will mark a milestone for the new era of the metro rail in India. The number of driverless train will increase as time passes.
The driverless train is set to run between Magenta line which connects Botanical Garden and Janakpuri West. The journey is 38 KMs long.

ABOUT DRIVERLESS METRO IN DELHI
PM Shri Narendra Modi while inaugurating the first ever driverless metro train said that India has achieved one more milestone. The plan for urbanization and opportunity to grow will take India to become the superpower soon. Also, PM Modi added that more than 25 cities from 18 states will get metro rail services by the year of 2025.
The driverless metro train in Delhi is expected to give more sustainability and reliability. The key factor of this rail is that it has advanced cameras and obstruction sensing sensors for the comfort of passengers and safety. These trains are capable to run at the speed of 35 KM/hr.
If we talk about the safety procedure, in case of emergency the passengers have to use Passenger Alert Device (PAD) to alert the driver. After that, the footage of the particular cabin will sent to the operation control room cabin to handle the situation and analyze.
The driverless trains will now have 6 couches and will have advanced features.
The driverless trains will have environment friendly features and will help to reach sustainable development.

As it is a driverless concept, the human intervention's absence will minimize the faults. It will enhance the comfort of the passengers. Also, there is no need to look for the crew availability and time delays.
Well, the driverless train will also have the train operators to provide the confidence and a formal guidance to the passengers.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi also stated that the driverless metro train and the smart projects in India will help to boost the economy. He also added that India will soon achieve a dream of $5 Trillion economy. The driverless metro train will improve the "ease of living" of the people of India.
